Workshops: The direct posterior composite restoration
This workshop will demonstrate the steps and principles involved in achieving a successful and long lasting direct restoration done with composite materials using all the guidelines of bonding dentistry. The layering technique will be explained in detail and also the self etch options which are available with the modern day materials. This workshop will also focus on one of the most difficult aspects of posterior restorations, which is achieving good contacts without any overhang and the inter proximal line angle. The use of specialized bands and the Triodent rings will be demonstrated. The workshop will also touch upon the polymerization factors which have to be considered when carrying out direct posterior restorations.
